We are excited to formally announce that Core Issue Productions, the creative team behind The Weight of Honor movie, has partnered with Virgil Films and Entertainment to be the official distributor for North America.
Virgil Films has a long history of working with independent filmmakers and documentarians, and is well-versed in coordinating releases for military-centric films, such as the Academy Award nominated film, Restrepo.
In the coming weeks, both companies will work to finalize agreements with major online retailers, such as Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart, as well as popular streaming platforms, like Apple's iTunes Movies and Amazon Video.

New York, NY – Joe Amodei, President of Virgil Films proudly announces the acquisition of the Core Issue Productions produced documentary THE WEIGHT OF HONOR. The film directed by Stephanie Seldin Howard chronicles the lives of families caring for their returning soldiers severely wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. The distribution deal was negotiated by Amodei and Tiffany Boyle of Ramos Law.
Filmed over five years, THE WEIGHT OF HONOR follows the lives of the family members of veterans catastrophically wounded in America’s longest war. Their lives are transformed overnight into 24/7 caregivers tasked with nursing for their war-wounded. The film is the first comprehensive documentary that reveals the family dynamic, their relationships before the wounds of war, and now, the uncertainties that lie ahead. The subjects are the spouses, parents and children who give a rare glimpse into their lives, as everyone grapples with finding a ‘new normal’ after the devastating effects of war time injuries.
Featuring interviews with Congressman Jim McDermott (D-Washington), Congressman Ruben Gallego (D-Arizona) and a host of military and caregiving experts, THE WEIGHT OF HONOR pays tribute to those spotlighted but also brings truth to a fact of war that is rarely discussed.
