It’s been a busy six months for “The Weight of Honor” as we moved through Fall and observances of Veterans’ Day and now halfway into the new year!
We are so deeply honored to have been invited to show our film at the 2019 Summit of the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving in Americus, Georgia! “The Weight of Honor” was the keynote event that led into a full day of workshops. Mrs. Carter was in attendance; we gave her a personal copy of our film… and even had our photo taken with her and President Carter at the closing Gala!
Did you know you can see “The Weight of Honor” at the National Infantry Museum in Columbus, Georgia? The NIM purchased an Institutional License so they have the option of screening the doc as often as they’d like. It’s now being shown on an almost daily basis at the Museum’s “Big Screen” Theatre. Make it a day trip and visit all the extraordinary exhibits at this one-of-a-kind museum! Click here for the movie schedule.
We’re still on the Film Festival circuit — “The Weight of Honor” was an Official Selection of the Rocky Mountain Women’s Film Festival in Colorado Springs, CO! It was an honor to show our doc and take questions from the audience, many of whom were veterans and/or military spouses. Stephanie was also on a panel discussing women as filmmakers and the extraordinary issues we face as directors/producers. Oh yeah… and we got to experience Colorado Springs’ first snowfall of the year!
Ever been to Kansas City in January? When it was only 2 degrees? Yup. We were! But it was for a good cause… Caregivers on the Homefront is doing an amazing job of helping military caregivers in Missouri and other Midwestern communities. “The Weight of Honor” is being screened at their events… in fact, we were just part of a gathering in Independence, MO. Watch for us to partner with Caregivers on the Homefront across the Midwest.

Lubbock: home of Texas Tech University. TTU brought us to their campus in February for TWO screenings as well as the opportunity to mentor their Broadcast Journalism students. Texas Tech also purchased an educational license so they can show the film whenever they’d like on campus.
